Average cost to build a 900 square foot house

I started getting interested in how much it costs to build a 900 square foot house when I was going house hunting. I knew that the cost of materials would depend upon the actual size of the home, so I wanted to do some research into what base cost needed to be added on top of the cost of materials to get the total cost of building an 900 square foot house.

18,000 sq. ft? Ridiculous you say? Well, check this out.  These numbers are based off of a kit house – so not haute couture by any means, just the necessities. The fact is, an average kit home costs around $75 / sq ft. and has a lot of the major components already in place: foundation, roofing, siding, subflooring, etc… You can literally order these homes on  Amazon . It’s not exactly the same thing as going to IKEA and building your own from the instructions provided with your Allen wrench set – but one short drive from home depot – and it is possible to buy everything for less than $18k.

Average cost to build a 900 square foot house

The average cost to build a 900 square foot house is around $100,000. This includes all the materials needed for the construction, including flooring, roofing, and drywall. The total does not include labor costs, which can vary depending on how much help you have and whether you are building from scratch or remodeling an existing structure.

The average cost to build a 900 square foot house depends on several factors:

  1. Location – The cost of building a 900 sq ft house in San Francisco would be higher than in Oklahoma City because of the high cost of living in San Francisco compared to Oklahoma City.
  2. Size – A 900 sq ft house that has two bedrooms instead of one will cost more to build than a 900 sq ft bungalow with one bedroom and 1 bathroom
  3. Design – Complex designs such as curved walls or arched doorways will increase the cost of construction because they require more materials and take longer to install

The average cost of building a 900 square foot house is between $250,000 and $350,000. This price will fluctuate depending on where you live, how many bedrooms and bathrooms you want and the style of home you choose.

Some of the factors that affect the cost of your new home include:

Location: Where you decide to build your home will have an impact on its price tag. Homes in rural areas tend to be less expensive than those in urban areas because there’s less infrastructure available (e.g. roads, water lines, sewage systems).

Size: The size of your home will have an impact on its total cost. A larger home will cost more money than a smaller one because it requires more materials and labor to build it. It also takes longer to complete due to more steps involved with construction (e.g., pouring foundations).

Style: The style of your home will also affect its total cost. For example, if you want a contemporary ranch-style house instead of a colonial bungalow, expect to pay more money for it because it requires more time for construction crews to build it correctly (e.g., installing drywall).
