How to build a 24 foot floor truss

The following table shows the maximum clear span and net clear span of a 2×4 load-bearing wall. The table also gives the maximum height of a wall using various combinations of headers, studs and plates. For example, a 4′ wide by 8′ high wall can be constructed from 2×4 studs with 1″ thick headers and either 2″ or 3/4″ thick plates. A 10′ wide by 12′ high wall can be constructed from 2×4 studs with 2″ thick headers and either 2″ or 3/4″ thick plates.
